Never Forget Never Forgive, They Left Us to Die

Never Forget, Never Forgive: They Left Us to Die is an installation. The work consists of several posters which appear to be memorials to individuals killed by hurricane Katrina. The posters are wheatpasted on plywood that has “Post No Bills” stenciled on it. Each poster provides details of how someone died as well as brief information about their life. For example: “Married for 59 years, 3 children. Died in his house that was in his family for 4 generations.” The posters do not include any names of the people. The formal designs of the posters are based on “martyr” posters of Palestinians killed by Israel which are pasted all over Palestine, on walls, in schools, and in homes. The work is installed indoors, inside a gallery space.
