Sampled

Sampled was begun as a commission by the T: The New York Times Style Magazine. The artworks were for inclusion in the article, The Artists Dismantling the Barriers Between Rap and Poetry. The text-based artworks used excerpts from some of the poems and Hip-Hop lyrics featured in the article. The writers sampled are Kendrick Lemar, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, and Nate Marshall.

The letterpress prints were published by Tom Virgin, Extra Virgin Press and Terrence Chouinard, The Wing and The Wheel Press. Each print is 19″ x12-1/2″ (12-1/2″ x 19″ in the case of slave grammer)
